Students at JMJ EM School are encouraged to feel a feeling of connection and teamwork through the house system, which is run by committed House Masters and Mistresses. Through the promotion of peer support, leadership among students, and age-group bonding, this approach fosters the development of a cohesive family atmosphere. In an effort to earn House Trophies, the houses—Walterus (Green), Aelen (Yellow), Blomijous (Red), and Stanislaus (Blue)—compete in a variety of intellectual, athletic, and cultural competitions.
The originator and impetus of the JMJ Education apostolate in India is Sr. Stanislaus, the first member of the Society of JMJ who is Indian. The Stanislaus House, which bears her name, is a symbol of peace and tolerance. It creates a peaceful neighbourhood that values variety and enables people to thrive while appreciating the small pleasures in life.
(Green)( Rooted in Resilience in Reaching New Heights) Mgr. Walterus Staal, the Vicar Apostolic of Batavia, inspired great hope for the Indonesian mission of the Society of JMJ, but his sudden death from a heart attack prevented him from meeting the pioneering sisters. The Walterus House, named in his honor, stands as a bastion of stability and growth, where its members nurture themselves and others, fostering resilience and a supportive atmosphere for personal and collective development.
An individual with an unshakeable energy and determination, he was a visionary and the driving force behind the Society of J.M.J. in India. In honour of Archbishop Mgr. J. Aelen of Madras, the Aelen House acts as a platform for individual brilliance and a furnace for creativity, with its residents—dreamers and doers alike—illuminating every circumstance with their passion. His unwavering work resulted in the founding of the Aelen House, a thriving community marked by optimism, intellectual curiosity, and a never-ending quest for knowledge.
The Blomijous House is a hub for innovation and vision. Its members are fervent people with a burning spirit and unwavering resolve. They are trailblazers who carve out new paths and motivate others to follow. Their house fosters an innovative and courageous atmosphere that inspires its members to achieve remarkable feats.
